The Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca South has one of the most beautiful Spanish coastlines. Known as "The White Coast", it boasts an average of 340 days of sunshine a year ideal for sun worshippers who like to enjoy the sun all year round. Temperatures of between 18 and 26 degrees during the months of January to June, and 25 to 32 degrees between July and September.

Torrevieja lies just 30 miles south of Alicante - a town that the World Health Organisation has identified as the healthiest place to live in Europe. Known as "The City of Salt", its salt lakes draw in moisture from the air creating a micro dry climate that is especially beneficial for those with arthritis, rheumatism, skin conditions, respiratory difficulties, and other ailments.

Take stroll down the beautiful promenade with its daily market, visit the International Marina which holds around 1500 boats of all shapes and sizes, and enjoy fresh catches of the day in one of the numerous local restaurants to be found in the area.

Eating out on the Costa Blanca is a great enjoyment. There are many bars, cafes, restaurants, pubs, and clubs to choose from, and with its international cuisine, the choice of food is immense. Look out for "Menu of the Day" where you can get a three or four course lunch including wine for around 7 Euros.

There are 23 of the most beautiful clean beaches (small coves or long sandy stretches) in this area, flying the European Blue Flag for cleanliness, and all these are with an easy drive of each other.

For the Sporty type, there are a number of water sports to choose from - jet ski or wind surfing for example. There is also yachting, tennis, riding schools, and golf.

The area is a well known paradise for golfers, the renowned golf clubs being the Real Club de Campoamar, Villa Martin, and Las Ramblas - all set in stunning surroundings, hosting superb club houses, and all available for the use by holiday makers.

For those who want to travel further afield Benidorm is just over one hours drive away, and the Terra Mitica theme park, one of the biggest in Europe can be found on the outskirts of town.

For history lovers, the area has a full history that dates back to Roman times, and there are many places of interest to visit.
